The organizing committee — headed by Kai Schwanberger — celebrated the first race of the German Championship in Meiningen as a festival. Right from the beginning on Friday the catering has been very good and every evening we had live rock bands playing, as well as other performances. The weather has been very good, and only in the evening we sometimes had thunderstorms which luckily didn’t cause any damage to the track. Kai and his team always did a great job to prepare the track, which looked very much like an asphalt racetrack.

The final was won by D. Reckward, followed
by T. Bremicker, A. Bartels, St. Beysse and Oliver Simon (XRAY XB8).

For the second race the German Buggy elite travelled to Sand and for the whole event the weather once again was perfect. The organizing people — headed by Ralf Bauer — did a great job just like the team in Meiningen, and on Friday night a local band and a belly dancer performed. Because of the warm and dry weather conditions the track had been battered very much, which forced all drivers to take it a little bit easier and put in some ‶safety runs※.

The second race was won by Daniel Reckward (German
Champion 2006), followed by J. Neumann and Markus Eisenschmalz (who became German Juvenile Champion 2006).
All drivers had lots of fun at these two races and are already looking forward to the 2007 racing season where again fun will be the most important thing.
